I heard this on a podcast & it’s stuck with me.

I don’t remember the exact hour of the day or the person on the podcast but all I remember is it was morning, I was running, I heard these words and they immediately felt like home.

Over the last few months, with the disruption of the pandemic and the whole world coming to an indefinite halt, I needed something to keep me going, to look forward to, to engage me and most importantly, to make me feel alive, so I ran.

Some days were good, some were great, some were literally just a walk in the park as others were a mind-over-matter battle;

Not today, maybe tomorrow?

Where am I really running to?

Gosh I just want fish rolls and hot cocoa 😂

But regardless of the voices in my head, I often found myself getting down to lace my shoes which was always all it took to get going.

The spirit of running is in every detail of the art, from the stride & cadence of steps to the count of the beat of the heart, sweat drops informing the mind’s thoughts, every part working in unison, creating the ultimate motion picture, designed and directed by GOD, the Giver of Life reminding me that He is constantly at work within me.

And though the whole world may be going through great uncertainties, one thing is certain, i can choose to stay in Him — Living, moving & having my being — this is what running means to me.
